HLTAID005 – Provide first aid in remote situations
8 June @ 08:00 - 9 June @ 16:00$399
We have designed a workshop for those who live, work or travel in the great Australian outdoors. This workshop provides a unique outdoor focus more relevant to real life, not something you will find in many classroom based courses.
The workshop is a 2-day immersion of practical skills in an outdoor environment. Our qualified trainers and casualty actors bring the scenarios to life with their wide range of skills and knowledge. We even go beyond pure first aid and cover preparation and planning advice, a short introduction to survival and how you can plan for various extraction options if you find yourself a long way from your vehicle.
This course covers management of various first aid situations including: shock, medical emergencies, burns/ temperature extremes, fractures, poisons/bites & stings, bleeding, allergic reactions, soft tissue injuries and many more in an outdoor setting.
In this case ‘remote’ is defined as being more than an hour away from medical assistance, but less than 24 hours. If your work, travel or hobbies mean that you may be even more than 24 hours from help, then you need a Wilderness First Aid course. This course however, will suit 90% of people who go climbing, abseiling, bushwalking, work in mines or on remote telecommunication towers and so forth.
This course is approved by ACECQA and This qualification satisfies all requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management and emergency asthma training.
Course duration is up to 16 practical hours and you will receive the following accredited units:
– HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
– HLTAID002 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
– HLTAID005 – Provide first aid response in a remote setting
If you require advanced first aid or Pain Management, please contact us via email
We will provide you with the knowledge and skills to perform first aid in remote situations where medical attention or assistance may be delayed. The First Aider may be required to attend to an injured or ill person for an extended period due to inclement weather or geographical obstacles.
You will not only learn how to provide an effective First Aid response and life support, but also how to effectively manage the incident, people involved and other First Aiders until medical assistance arrives.
Please note, if you have recently completed an HLTAID003 (Provide First Aid) or HLTAID004 (Provide an emergency response in an education or childcare setting) within the last 6 months you can upgrade to HLTAID005 at a discounted rate
This is Nationally Recognised Training. A Statement of Attainment will be issued following successful completion of all units. Training completed under the auspices of National First Aid Training institute RTO# 40704
