Accredited Courses

Our list of Nationally Recognised Accredited first-aid courses for your workplace, industry or personal life.  We specialise in contextualising all these elements to the outdoors, whether that be a remote mining site, hiking or camping holiday, a forest school or farm…the outdoors brings up all sorts of uncontrollable challenges office-focused courses do not take into account.

HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – 2 hours

CPR saves lives. It is required to keep oxygen flowing in a casualty’s body long enough to get them to hospital and needs to be undertaken on anyone unconscious and not breathing.  You may have to perform CPR on someone who had a near drowning, choking incident, anaphylactic reaction or cardiac arrest.  It generally happens very suddenly and the first 5 minutes is the most critical, so the more people any organisation has CPR trained and capable and confident to perform it, the greater the casualty’s survival chances are.

HLTAID002 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid

HLTAID004 – Provide an Emergency First Aid response in an education and care setting – half day

Provide First Aid is the standard workplace requirement for anyone who requires first aid as part of their job.  Typically, most providers include HLTAID002 in the same course as the two go hand in hand.  Here at Outdoor First Aid Training we also include HLTAID004, specialising in an education and care setting for no extra charge.  For schools and education and care settings this is the standard workplace requirement, so why should there be a separate charge for it?  We can include the additional content into the same time frame as HLTAID003 and given our focus on education facilities, it only makes sense to elevate our ‘standard requirement’ to meet our client’s needs.

HLTAID005 – Provide First Aid in Remote Situations – 2 days (or 1 day top up from 003/4)

The Remote First Aid course is our flagship program and is the most comprehensive course available in Brisbane.  There are no PowerPoint presentations or classroom work here, everything is delivered in the outdoors, where the real emergencies will happen. We use real-world scenarios, casualty actors and make-up for our scenario based training.  We include practical, realistic, hands-on emergency management and survival skills which are paramount to working in a remote setting.  We recommend this for anyone engaging in outdoor activities, camps, hikes and/or remote work where they may be more than an hour away from an ambulance.

HLTAID006 – Provide Advanced First Aid – 1 Day

HLTAID007 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation – half day

Our trainers can also provide advance first aid and resuscitation courses should you or your staff members require it.  The courses are best suited for those individuals required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.  Typically, a nominated Work, Health and Safety Officer or similar individual may be nominated to undertake the advanced course as it deals response management and management of the incident and other first aiders.

The Advanced Resuscitation course provides the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.  This applies to workers who may be required to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.
